The Zurich flood resilience program – Phase 1 from 2013-2018: Stocktaking and impact evaluation report
This report is intended to provide a short overview of the input, output and achievements (‘impacts’) of the Zurich flood resilience program, including the Zurich flood resilience alliance (the Alliance). By using the flood resilience measurement framework and tool for communities (FRMC) in over 110 communities in 13 programs within nine countries, the Alliance has created 1.1 million data points to measure flood resilience.
This report describes the overall impact of the Alliance and its community programs, knowledge generation and sharing, influencing and advocacy, research, and the Post Event Review Capability. In drawing conclusions about the progress made so far, the report identifies main challenges that need to be tackled, including ways to better incentivize risk reduction and the integration of DRR, climate change adaptation and development investments in low development environments.
