This is the first report on The State of Humanitarian Shelter and Settlements, covering approaches, strategies and practice regarding the provision of humanitarian shelter and settlements in disasters. It reflects the work of the Global Shelter Cluster and aims to share best practice within the humanitarian community and promote more integrated humanitarian response.

The report draws linkages with the needs and priorities of disaster recovery, disaster risk reduction and climate change adaptation.
