lobal reinsurance giant Aon Benfield has urged the government and local insurers to make better use of deep-dive data analytics, arguing that faster and more considered use of down-to-the-metre information could buffer the sector and the community against the rising costs of natural catastrophes.
Chief executive of Aon Benfield Australia and New Zealand Robert de Souza said that by using more accurate data to price the risk properties have to flood, bushfire or cyclones, insurers could help the government mitigate costs by finding areas for prevention initiatives.
