Myanmar is on the list of the 25 countries worldwide that could be most affected by climate change, reports Mizzima, according to the Notre Dame Global Adaptation Index 2015. "The high vulnerability score and low readiness score of Myanmar places it in the upper-left quadrant of the ND-GAIN Matrix. Myanmar has both a great need for investment and innovations to improve readiness for climate change and a great urgency for action. The country is the 47th most vulnerable country and the 6th least-ready country," reports Mizzima, quoting the survey.

The Notre Dame Global Adaptation Index, housed in the Environmental Change Initiative at University of Notre Dame in the United States, follows a data-driven approach to show which countries are best prepared to deal with global changes brought about by overcrowding, resource-constraints and climate disruption.
