Climate change induced increased precipitation, flash floods, landslides have increasing impacts on infrastructure and on the livelihood of the population in the Indian Ocean region for Small Island States. Ginna Bonne, head of Climate Change, Disaster and Environment at the Indian Ocean Commission talks about the adaptation challenges for Small Island States in an interview with Acclimatise's Will Bugler.

The challenges that SIDS face will be discussed at a UN conference in the Pacific island of Samoa at the end of August. One of the side events of the conference will focus on partnerships and on how best to collaborate and build climate resilience.
