Seattle officials have prepared a map that will show the areas of the city which are expected to be flooded by 2050 due to climate change induced rising sea levels, reports the Spokesman-review.
“We did this map to understand impacts on our infrastructure. In the big picture, this isn’t just about sea-level rise. It’s about drinking water, urban flooding, and how we design new projects,” explained Paul Fleming, manager of climate and sustainability for Seattle Public Utilities.
