Pakistan: International Disaster Risk Reduction Day observed

Peshawar, Pakistan - Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa organised an event commemorating the devastating earthquake in 2005 with the theme “Living with Disaster and Disability”, reports News International. The United Nations observe October 13 as the International Day for Disaster Reduction. The objectives of the “International Day for Disaster Reduction” are to spread knowledge about the importance of disaster risk reduction and create awareness in communities for reducing risks to disasters.
