Volunteers: The backbone of the Euro-Mediterranean civil protection

A recent OECD report recognised the highly mobile force of Italian volunteer organisations as a key feature of the Italian Civil Protection - “tens of thousands of volunteers could be mobilized to support professionals in emergency response, relief and recovery activities within just a few days”.

PPRD provides examples from its partner countries.
