Trinidad and Tobago: 'Man makes disasters worse'

Works and Infrastructure Minister Jack Warner said the devastation caused by the flooding which the nation has witnessed taking place over the last few days in north-west Trinidad is "a natural disaster compounded by human activity," according to Newsday. He blames "unplanned development, illegal construction and cultivation of hillsides and riverbanks, and an overall neglect of the infrastructure" for playing a major roles in the destruction.
