United Nations Secretary-General, Ban Ki-moon, writes for the Financial Times about the importance that disaster risk management must be given in countries. Ban Ki-Moon considers the example of Bangladesh for which their adaptation and preparedness measures resulted from lower losses than 20 years ago. He also describes the report by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change: "Managing the Risks of Extreme Events and Disasters to Advance Climate Change Adaptation", as an "expert guidance for governments to strengthen their climate resilience."
