The Sun Star reports that a science specialist said Western Visayas must come up with specific policy decisions embodied in a comprehensive climate change action plan to meet the challenges of the climate change situation.

'Philippines must seek ways for adaptation to climate change through mitigating measures to reduce green house gases in the atmosphere and its impact on the temperature and precipitation or intensified typhoons,' said senior science research specialist, Sandee Recabar in the Sun Star report. 'There is a need to be prepared as the country is very vulnerable with focus more on adaptation.'
