Pasig City, one of the 17 local government units that comprise Metro Manila, has tapped the services of EMI to help the city formulate a Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Plan (DRRMP) that will provide a better understanding of disaster risks that the city and its residents face.

The plan is hoped to improve the capacity of the Communications, Command and Control (C3) system, to address flood and earthquake risks with the appropriate tools and methodologies, enhance inter-institutional coordination among City Government departments and other stakeholders in terms identifying actions and mobilizing support to reduce disaster risks, and increase general awareness of Pasig City residents about risk reduction and management which will improve the city’s over-all resiliency to disasters. The project officially commenced in June 2011 and will have a duration of 15 months.
