South Korea landslides: Seoul residents warned over exposed landmines

Commenting on the heavy rain-induced landslides and subsequent warning of landmine exposure, President Lee Myung-bak said "if it keeps raining like this, no country in the world can endure this...we should raise the bar of safety standards to deal with such natural disasters."

The Guardian reports that the damage bill is expected to run into hundreds of millions of dollars.
