Being mindful that disasters triggered by climate change were on the increase in Zambia and that their effects could only be minimized through longer term investment in climate change and disaster risk reduction interventions, the Government "with the support from the UN system is in the process of establishing a Geographic Information System hazard risk map on natural and human–induced disasters," said the Disaster Management and Mitigation Unit (DMMU) national coordinator Dominiciano Mulenga, speaking at the commemoration of the World Humanitarian Day, as reported by the Times of Zambia.
