NW China steps up disaster prevention after landslide kills 17

Local authorities in a northwestern Chinese city Tuesday ordered an inspection of areas prone to geological disasters after a deadly rain-triggered landslide killed 17 people there Saturday afternoon, reports Shanghai Daily.
