The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), with the help of the United Nations (UN) is launching an awareness campaign for safer schools, hospitals and more resilient civic facilities in Pakistan in remembrance of the martyrs of 2005 Earthquake. The Disaster Awareness Day will be observed on October 8 as reported by the Daily Times. The global campaigns of United Nation’s International Strategy for Disaster Reduction (UNISDR) 'One Million Safe Schools and Hospitals' and 'Resilient Cities' will also be organized by the NDMA on the eve of National Disaster Awareness Day 2011.
