The Mines and Geosciences Bureau of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources' (MGB OIC, Philippines) Director Rene de la Cruz explains the quadrangle maps produced as part of the field assessment to indicate the existing hazards in each area assessed and to what extent they are rated.

De la Cruz confirms that each municipality at risk has received an advisory threat in order for local officials to prepare their areas and to initiate the evaluation of alternative areas for urgent relocation before being hit by calamities. He stated that "...the geohazard maps and the advisory threats issued to the local government units are planning and management tools and can challenge the local officials on how well they can respond to disaster risk reduction”, reports the News Today.
