Philippines: Albay town's early warning system uses recycled bottles, bells

A World Bank-funded early disaster warning system project enabled the landslide-prone town of Manito in Albay to develop a low-cost early warning system using recycled bottles and bells but equipped with remote sensing and ground surveying capabilities.

The Philippine Star adds that a team of experts would further organize the local communities, and educate and train them in measuring key climate indicators related to floods and landslides.
