'Shock-Waves' - International film festival on DRR calls for entries
Global Forum for Disaster Reduction (GFDR), India, is organizing First International Film Forum on Disaster Risk Reduction, Shock-Waves 2011 (An International Forum for Sharing Films on DRR), which will screen short, documentary and fiction films made on the themes of disaster management, risk reduction and rehabilitation. This event is being organised with technical support from Film Trust India (FTI),
Entries are invited for this international event to be held on 12-13 April 2011, at the India Habitat Center, New Delhi.
The First Asian Film Festival on Disaster Risk Reduction (AFFDRR) was recently hosted as a side event during 4th Asian Ministerial Conference on Disaster Risk Reduction (AMCDRR) at Incheon, Republic of Korea from 25-28 Oct, 2010 in collaboration with Asian Disaster Reduction Centre (ADRC), Kobe, Japan and Asian Disaster Preparedness Centre (ADPC), Bangkok, Thailand.
Please send your entries for Shock-Waves 2011 (An International Forum for Sharing Films on DRR) on the following categories and subjects:
(a) Nature’s fury
(b) Climate change adaptation
(c) Rebuilding lives
(d) Fortifying ourselves
(e) Learning from experience
(f) Children in emergencies etc.
The film entries should be sent urgently by courier in DVDs with declaration of non-commercial multiple-screening rights, and should reach us at the address given below on or before 15 Mar, 2011. Those interested in associating/collaborating with the event may also contact GFDR for more details.
A Preview Committee of experts will shortlist the films to be screened at the event though all the films received will be displayed.
