L'Ispi, fondato nel 1934, è tra i più antichi e prestigiosi istituti italiani specializzati in attività di carattere internazionale, con sede a Palazzo Clerici a Milano.
È un'associazione di diritto privato, eretta in Ente morale nel 1972, operante sotto la vigilanza del ministero degli Affari Esteri e, per quanto concerne la gestione, sotto il controllo del Ministero dell’Economia e delle Finanze e della Corte dei Conti.
La produzione scientifica dell’ISPI si è sempre contraddistinta per un forte orientamento pragmatico (basato sul monitoraggio delle diverse aree geopolitiche e sull’interpretazione delle principali tendenze in atto nello scenario globale, con l’obiettivo di fornire indicazioni e chiavi di lettura agli operatori politici ed economici), un approccio interdisciplinare (assicurato dalla stretta collaborazione tra specialisti in studi economici, politici, giuridici, storici e strategici, provenienti anche da ambiti non accademici) e la partnership con prestigiose Istituzioni e Centri di ricerca di tutto il mondo.
L’attività dell’Istituto è articolata in quattro direttrici primarie: la ricerca (strutturata in Osservatori e Programmi su specifiche aree geopolitiche o tematiche trasversali), le pubblicazioni, la formazione e l’organizzazione di eventi.
Il target è tradizionalmente molto ampio: dagli studenti ai rappresentanti del mondo politico e della cultura, dagli esponenti delle amministrazioni pubbliche, degli organismi internazionali e delle organizzazioni non governative alla "business community" (che è ancora oggi tra gli interlocutori primari, nonché significativo sostenitore dell’Istituto).
The Sendai Framework Voluntary Commitments (SFVC) online platform allows stakeholders to inform the public about their work on DRR. The SFVC online platform is a useful toolto know who is doing what and where for the implementation of the Sendai Framework, which could foster potential collaboration among stakeholders. All stakeholders (private sector, civil society organizations, academia, media, local governments, etc.) working on DRR can submit their commitments and report on their progress and deliverables.
