Viet Nam: Progress on establishing national forum for disaster mitigation

VOV reports on a recent seminar held in Hanoi to discuss the establishment of a national forum on 'natural' disaster mitigation and climate change. Jerry Velasquez, coordinator of the UNISDR Asia Pacific office, praised Viet Nam’s efforts in disaster prevention and adaptation to climate change. He stressed that the relevant agencies and national coordinating organizations should focus on [implementing] the Hyogo Framework for Action 2005-2015.
