Law to boost the Philippines' capacity to survive disasters signed

The Manila Bulletin reports on outgoing President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo having signed into law the 'Philippine Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Act of 2010'. This Act provides for the development and implementation of actions and measures related to disaster risk reduction: good governance, risk assessment, early warning, capacity building, awareness raising, and preparedness.
