A new computer game, developed by James Cook University's Centre for Disaster studies, is aimed at helping children across northern Australia prepare for the physical and mental onslaught of the cyclone season.
Developed in response to the trauma experienced by children after tropical cyclone Larry in March 2006, Stormwatchers is a 3D interactive game. It is a joint project between the Bureau of Meteorology and Queensland Government.
Stormwatchers can be downloaded free at the Bureau of Meteorology website.
