Environmental degradation impacts the poorest countries

On the occasion of the International Day for Disaster Reduction, Cooperazione Internazionale cites disaster risk reduction as key to poverty reduction and reducing vulnerability to hazards such as drought, floods, cyclones, storm surges, earthquakes and volcanoes.

The association underlines the need to reduce disaster risk in order to achieve the Millennium Development Goals.
