Towards a European drought policy

Following the drought that affected Europe in 2003, EurAqua is trying to ensure that this phenomenon is more clearly recognised as a major environmental issue, and drafted during 2004 a document for a “European Drought Policy”. The production of this document was followed by the participation of Cemagref and other EurAqua members in a European group in charge of implementing the European Water Framework Directive which is preparing a document addressing the drought problem.
