Activities in support of the Hurricane Mitch reconstruction program
As part of the U.S. Government’s program to assist Central America in the recovery from Hurricane Mitch, the USGS conducted a $14.15 million program of activities in Honduras, Nicaragua, El Salvador, and Guatemala. This effort was designed to strengthen the affected countries’ ability at both national and local levels to mitigate, prepare for, and respond to future natural disasters. This report provides an executive summary of the work conducted in each of the above countries.
