An update on WFP interventions in disaster preparedness and mitigation

WFP/EB.1/2007/5-B:

This update paper concurs that prevention is an essential part of disaster preparedness and mitigation that would need to be developed in a policy paper. It stresses that partnerships are a current and essential feature of the World Food Programme’s involvement, and outlines the process to be followed in preparing an official policy document for disaster preparedness and mitigation for submission to the Board for approval in late 2007 or early 2008.
