Child centered disaster risk reduction (CCDRR)

This publication addresses Child centred disaster risk reduction (CCDRR) as a process to strengthen communities resilience. It aims to serve as a reference material about the CCDRR and to present the application of CCDRR in the work process discussion. It contains: (i) an introductory guide to CCDRR and to the Child Centred Community Development (CCCD); (ii) a presentation of the linkage between development and disaster; (iii) an explanation on community based disaster risk reduction and its alignment with CCCD; (iv) a description of the work process of CCDRRM; (v) an identification of seven key capacities of community organization; and (iv) two issues in institutional strengthening and alliance building on DRR.

This guidebook has been developed for Plan Bangladesh staff, child activists and community based organizations and other non-government organizations as well with the technical assistance of the Asian Disaster Preparedness Center (ADPC).
