Nepal Red Cross Society disaster management strategic framework 2010-2015
This framework was developed to maintain coherence in Nepal Red Cross Society disaster management activities and to define the scope of interventions, priorities and core action areas. It identifies strategic directions and priority areas for action – essentially laying out where the NRCS wants to go and how it may get there, providing a base for its own internal coordination and planning as well as a pathway for its supporting partners to engage. Directions have been identified as: (i) Disaster Management Planning; (ii) Disaster Risk Reduction; (iii) Response for Natural Disasters and Population Movements; (iv) Recovery for Natural Disasters and Population Movements; (v) Organizational Preparedness; (vi) Coordination and partnerships; and (vii) Advocacy.
