Pacific Regional Environment Programme strategic plan 2011-2015
This document is a single integrated plan that identifies the priorities, strategies and actions for addressing human-induced environmental challenges over the next five years. It establishes four strategic priorities: (i) climate change, including the development and implementation of appropriate adaptation and disaster risk reduction measures; (ii) biodiversity and ecosystem management; (iii) waste management and pollution control; and (iv) environmental monitoring and governance. It also sets clear targets and performance indicators, and strengthens environmental monitoring as a basis for regional and national decision making. The Plan was formally adopted at the 21st SPREP meeting held in Papua New Guinea in September 2010.
