Disaster risk reduction in the drylands of the Horn of Africa
In this first newsletter produced by Oxfam’s Regional Learning and Advocacy Project (REGLAP), selected examples of good practice in disaster risk reduction have been brought together. This includes: (i) long term and holistically thinking when addressing disasters in pastoral areas, (ii) Pastoralist Field Schools, (iii) cross border dynamics and cross border programming in Karamoja (Uganda) and Pokot (Kenya), and (iv) solar pumps to improve water security in drought prone areas.
