The Climate and Migration Coalition is an alliance of NGOs working to protect the rights of migrants and displaced people, who move as a result of disasters and climate change. The Coalition fights for humane and empowering policies to protect people who move, and for public acceptance and support.
The Coalition's goal is to ensure a people centred policy response at the national and international level by:
- Building support for policies that allow people to strengthen their survival capacity through migration
- Ensuring adequate assistance and protection for people displaced internally and across borders as a consequence of slow and sudden onset disasters
The Sendai Framework Voluntary Commitments (SFVC) online platform allows stakeholders to inform the public about their work on DRR. The SFVC online platform is a useful toolto know who is doing what and where for the implementation of the Sendai Framework, which could foster potential collaboration among stakeholders. All stakeholders (private sector, civil society organizations, academia, media, local governments, etc.) working on DRR can submit their commitments and report on their progress and deliverables.
