This brief addresses disaster risk reduction as a critical component of the post-2015 development agenda and proposes a tentative targets/indicators to be included in the post-2015 framework for disaster risk reduction or “Hyogo Framework 2” (HFA2) in order to build the resilience of the poor and those in vulnerable situations, with special attention to households, women, children and those with disabilities, and reduce their exposure and vulnerability to climate-related extreme events and other economic, social and environmental shocks and disasters.
