It provides comprehensive disaster data, information, analysis and reflection of losses and damages that have occurred due to various disaster events across the country in the last two years.
The document tries to make a case for why and how Nepal should address the issues of disaster management in order to preserve and enhance the resilience of the Nepalese people to adversaries and vagaries of nature, safeguard peoples' life and property, and ensure incorporation of disaster risk reduction measures into their developmental efforts. It is hoped that the publication of this report will stimulate improved data collection and research that will help bridge the gaps identified in disaster management.
The publication was prepared by the Disaster Preparedness Network Nepal, with the leadership and guidance of the Nepalese Ministry of Home Affairs.
