Urban wetlands: a new model for urban resilience in Colombo
This brief is part of a series highlighting the World Bank's achievements in disaster risk management initiatives. It presents efforts undertaken by the government of Sri Lanka, with support from GFDRR and the World Bank, in addressing the flood risk in the metropolitan capital with a population of more than two million - a technical risk assessment and wetland management plan is being developed to inform flood management systems, urban planning, and economic investment decisions.
