Asia science technology status for disaster risk reduction
This publication explores the contributions of science and technology in Asia. The first part evaluates the advancement of the science and technology in disaster risk reduction in 11 countries.
The second part of the report features 28 case studies and good practices on applying science and technology in different field of disaster risk reduction as follow:
- Country cases (24): Bhutan (1), China (1), India (4), Indonesia (2), Iran (3), Japan (4), Mongolia (2), Myanmar (1), Malaysia (2), Nepal (1), Pakistan (1), Philippines (1) and Thailand (1)
- Cross cutting issues (4): Cross boundary flood, Digital radio, Resilient housing and schools and River basin ecosystem
The status report and case studies illustrate that the strong partnership of science technology groups with other stakeholders in Asia. However, there is a need to strengthen this partnership with a clearer direction and strategy for implementation.
