Child Centered Risk Assesment
This document reports on the hazard risk assessment of 100 schools in three focused districts in Balochistan: Quetta, Jaffarabad and Naseerabad. During a span of two months (Oct and Nov 2016), child-centered hazard risk assessments took place with the main objective to prioritise and take necessary action in order to minimise the risk associated through:
- Understanding the hazard, disaster;
- Strengthening the disaster risk knowledge;
- Capacity building and enhancing knowledge; and
- Enhancing disaster preparedness for effective prevention, preparedness and response/recovery.
A checklist of over 100 school safety and security requirements showed, for each school assessed, whether the assessor thinks the school meets, does not meet or is uncertain about the safety requirements of the schools.
