Resilience Development Initiative: Newsletter April-June Vol. 4-2
This newsletter features several updates and activities from the Resilience Development Initiative (RDI), an Indonesian think tank initiative that focuses on disaster, environmental change and sustainable development. Content in this issue includes:
- Final evaluation of Indonesia Post-Disaster Livelihood Recovery Project in Mt. Sinabung and Mt. Kelud: RDI collaborated with FAO, UNDP, and ILO to conduct the final evaluation
- Webinar: Capacity Building For Disasters as Opportunities: RDI had just conducted first open webinar in collaboration with the University of Twente and Arizona State University.
- Development of Transportation System and Renewable Energy in Central Europe Cities: Dr Ari Tarigan, the cluster chair of Infrastructure Urban Governance, had a unique opportunity to witness the development of transportation system and renewable energy in Central Europe cities (Prague, Brno, Vienna, and Bratislava) from 8 until 17 April 2017.
- RDI - Leeds PhD Preparatory Workshop + Energy Garden potential for villages field visit: Prof. Jon Lovett from School of Geography provides with tips and knowledge in doing PhD in Leeds University. Participants are from different locations in Indonesia, such as Bali, Sumatra, Jakarta and West Java.
- Mobile Banking Information Communication Technology for Disaster Management: Mr. Yusra Tebe from UNICEF gave a lecture on this topic
- Voice of Members Adryan Sasongko on Participating in Haze and Forest Fires Discussion at UNOCHA headquarters in Jakarta, Deidra and Salma on internship experience in RDI, and Yasmina Wulandari on representing RDI during MoA signing with Center of Adaptation and Resilience for Environmental Design Studies (CAREDs) at Unpar.
