Tips for effectively communications with the whole community in disasters
While the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and its federal partners remain in close coordination with state, local, and tribal governments to coordinate and provide resources as needed in connection with preparedness, response and recovery associated with the blizzard of 2015 impacting the northeastern United States, states, localities, and other recipients are reminded of their obligations to carry out their federally assisted activities in a manner that does not discriminate based on race, color, national origin, including limited English proficiency. This document shows some tips or practices regarding how effective communication can help jurisdictions meet their obligations to carry out their disaster related activities in a non-discriminatory manner.
