This module (Module 9) is part of the Academy of ICT Essentials for Government Leaders, a flagship programme of the United Nations Asian and Pacific Training Centre for Information and Communication Technology for Development (APCICT), and is designed to equip government officials with the knowledge and skills to fully leverage ICT for socio-economic development.

The module provides an overview of disaster risk management (DRM), presents an approach for identifying information needs in DRM, and provides examples of the applications of ICTs for DRM. The module also discusses benefits and barriers for utilizing ICT in DRM.
