US military installations are facing a potentially staggering expansion of dangerous heat over the coming decades. This interactive map identifies the average number of days per year above a 100°F heat index that are projected to occur at military bases in the contiguous US with more than 1,000 active duty and reserve service members.

Branches of the military are identified by color: Army, Marine Corps, Air Force, Navy, and Joint. Circle size indicates the population of each installation. Click on any location for more detailed information.
