Specialisation certificate in the assessment and management of geological and climate related risk

This course is given in English and includes 9 weeks of lectures, laboratory exercises, field work, and an individual research project.
Hazard and risk assessment related to:
- Risk management
- Volcanic risk
- Seismic risk
- Flood and climate related risk
- Landslide risk
People working in the field of disaster reduction in governmental and non-governmental organizations or in private institutions, and those who wish to deepen their understanding of geological and climate related risk and risk management.
- Candidates should have a master degree or a 5-years University diploma.
- Applicants should possess a valid visa for Schengen space. They should also contact the Swiss Embassy or Consulate and the other consulates in their country of residence to obtain the necessary visa before arriving at Geneva. A candidate without the required visa will not be admitted to the course.
- Applicants with a recognized certificate of specialization in either one of the 4 fields of geological risks may ask for equivalence in the relevant field.
