Activity plan 2010 -2012: Swedish national platform for disaster risk reduction
This activity plan describes the direction of the work of the Swedish National Platform for Disaster Risk Reduction from a three-year perspective. The plan will be updated annually. The strategies decided upon by the DG meeting and documented in the activity plan constitute guidelines for the work of the secretariat and the authorities’ network. It is also intended to be used as support for the participating authorities in the planning and prioritising of their work on natural disasters.
Within the framework of every set strategy several activities/projects may be initiated in order to reach targets. A detailed description of activities is drawn up for each activity, to be used for guidance and subsequent follow-up. The authorities’ representatives participate, when appropriate, on working groups and on the reference groups that can be set up when an activity is initiated. Through the platform’s authorities’ network, the authorities’ representatives provide information about the activities, related to the directions decided upon, which participating authorities are planning and conducting.
The secretariat for the national platform has staff and facilities for the coordination, communication and administration of the work of the platform. The secretariat’s work and its work as the focal point for the HFA are financed by the MSB (Swedish Civil Contingencies Agency).
