Georgia: National environmental action plan 2 (2012-2016)
This action plan, adopted in January 2012 the Government of Georgia, sets long-term goals, short-term targets and provides respective activities for eleven themes: disasters (covers natural and man-made disasters, industrial accidents), climate change, waste and chemical substances, nuclear and radiation safety, water resources, ambient air, Black Sea, biodiversity and protected areas, land resources, forestry, mineral resources. In addition to a thorough history of environmental policy in Georgia, the National environmental action plan 2 (NEAP-2) also presents several cross-cutting issues and concludes with an explanation of the importance of policy coordination within the national government, between the national and the municipal levels.
