UNASUR: Resolution on the creation of a high level working group for comprehensive disaster risk management
UNASUR/CMRE/RESOLUTION/Nº4 2013 whereby the Council of Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the Union of South American Nations resolves to create a high level working group for comprehensive disaster risk management:
A resolution in which the heads of state and government, with consideration to the recent disasters in Haiti and Chile and the Hyogo Framework for Action for 2005-2015, among others, resolve to create a high level working group for comprehensive disaster risk management intended to pursue the comprehensive management of disaster risks through policies, strategies, plans and activities in disaster estimation, prevention, risk reduction, preparation and response, humanitarian assistance, rehabilitation and reconstruction, as well as technical assistance and exchange of experiences in the matter. It also describes the specific goals, the composition and the residence of the high level working group for comprehensive disaster risk management.
