Myanmar: National Framework for Community Disaster Resilience 2016
The Myanmar National Framework for Community Disaster Resilience seeks to achieve people-centered, inclusive, and sustainable socioeconomic development in the face of disasters triggered by natural hazards and climate change. The framework articulates a common understanding, proposes a coherent approach, and identifies potential opportunities for strengthening the resilience of communities in Myanmar.
The recommended actions are community-based and span across key sectors such as rural and urban development, agriculture, environmental conservation and forestry, financial inclusion, social protection, and disaster preparedness. The implementation requires an inclusive approach, and leveraging partnerships and resource mobilization through the cooperation of government organizations, civil society organizations, the private sector, and development partners.
