National disaster risk reduction strategy of Georgia 2017-2020
In January 2017, the Government of Georgia adopted the National Disaster Risk Reduction Strategy of Georgia 2017-2020, its Action Plan and Annex to the Action Plan.
The National Disaster Risk Reduction Strategy of Georgia 2017-2020 assesses the current legislative and policy situation, outlines the main priorities of disaster risk reduction policy, analyses particular natural hazard risks faced by the country, and outlines implementation mechanisms of national disaster risk reduction strategy.
The Action Plan outlines implementation activities, responsible organisations, timelines, budgets and financing sources along specific disaster risk priority areas.
Finally, the Annex outlines DRR activities by the Government of Georgia that need additional sources of financing.
