Cambodia: Climate change strategic plan for water resources and meteorology 2013-2017
The Kingdom of Cambodia is considered one of the most water-abundant countries in the region. But climate change is expected to increase water management challenges, with less rainfall during the dry season and more during the wet season. Subsequently, this document establishes two distinct climate change strategic plans for water resources and for meteorology.
Concerning the former, the plan seeks to ensure the sustainable use of water resources in adapting to climate change. Meanwhile, delivering timely and trusted weather and climatic information is the goal of the meteorological element. The plan also addresses cross-sectoral issues between water and climate change, and identifies climate change responses and risks in relation to water resources.
