Created in 1987 under the auspices of the Council of Europe, Efus is the oldest non-governmental organization of territorial bodies working in the field of urban security and crime prevention. The aim of our network is to strengthen crime prevention policies and promote the role of local elected officials in national and European policies. Efus works on all topics related to urban security, forging links between European local authorities through the exchange of best practices and knowledge, cooperation and training. It also serves as a link between local communities and institutions at national, European and international levels. It is run by an executive committee of 33 local authorities selected by all members of the network around 250 cities and local authorities). It has inspired the creation of seven national Forums, established in Germany, Belgium, France, Italy, Spain, Luxembourg, and Portugal.
The Sendai Framework Voluntary Commitments (SFVC) online platform allows stakeholders to inform the public about their work on DRR. The SFVC online platform is a useful toolto know who is doing what and where for the implementation of the Sendai Framework, which could foster potential collaboration among stakeholders. All stakeholders (private sector, civil society organizations, academia, media, local governments, etc.) working on DRR can submit their commitments and report on their progress and deliverables.
