Background

Scope of work


The consultant will be expected to conduct a 7 days (4 days training and 3 days travel) training session and deliver comprehensive knowledge specific to the following topics and participants should be able to know about;

Gender role analysis


• Introduction to Concepts of Gender & Framework of Gender Analysis
• Gender &Sex
• Gender Stereotyping
• Gender equity and Equality
• Gender Needs
• Gender and Policies
• Gender Analysis : Some Tools
• Gender & Disasters: Dominant Vs. Alternative Approach & Discourse on Gendered Capacities and Vulnerabilities
• International and National mandates on gender mainstreaming in policies and Programs
• How to examine policies and programs from a gender perspective?
• Gender & DRR Issues in Afghanistan & Way forward
• Gender Dimensions of Emergencies ( Shelter, food security , WATSAN/WASH, Health, Education, Livelihoods, Political participation, & VAW

Disability and DRR: A perspective building exercise


• Rights based terminology and its implications for development and DRR policies and programs
• National and International Mandates on mainstreaming disability in policies and programs
• Indicators and checklist for Integration of PWDs across sectors in DRR

General points

• Ensure 4 days of training for 30 participant’s batch
• Consultant/s must ensure have pre and post training forms properly filled out by training participants.
• Ensure trainings are delivered by consultant/s in full compliance with session plans as well as training material is fully explained to ensure that training participants have understood what was shared with them.
• Consultant/s should ensure that peer/horizontal learning as well benefiting from local wisdom, examples and lessons learnt is encouraged in trainings.
• Consultant/s strictly follows and honor principle understanding developed with you and reflected in this document of scope of work.

Qualifications


Personnel qualifications (Special training/experience required) provide 6-7 requirements

• At least 3 years of relevant work experience in capacity building of national and international organizations.
• Subject specific experience and higher education at least masters degree in disaster management or emergency management or social sciences or earth sciences or environmental sciences (Curriculum Vitae of the team members should be annexed with the proposals).
• Willingness and physical fitness to work in conflict environment.
• Ability to work in traditional, and remote social system
• Good communication, report-writing and presentation/training skills
• Understanding of and practical experience with community participatory approaches (where applicable)
• Exposure to related field activities
• Experience with working in a team
